Celebrating International Women’s Day

It’s International Women’s Day and 2021 is a year we’ll all remember. Last year, my life (and many millions of others) hadn’t changed yet. I heard about COVID-19, but I didn’t know the severity of it. I also didn’t know it was going to spread across the world.

I’ve always believed women were the heartbeat of our country and the last year has proved it. Women, in all roles, have been a major factor in keeping the world go round. At the same time, millions of women across the world are experiencing more responsibilities, obligations, and struggles than before.

March is International Women’s Month and today is International Women’s Day. To learn more info about the official info, head over to the website.

Back to all the extraordinary women in the world. How do we honor and celebrate women on this day or on any day? Good question. One thing you can do is listen. Women are often drowned out and their input and opinions can be ignored. Now that it’s 2021, there is no reason this should continue. Whether it’s in your personal life or your professional life, active listening is golden.

My second one may be a little controversial, but the other way we celebrate women is by paying them what they’re worth. Some people say it’s impolite to talk about money, but money is a vehicle for change. Money helps us live the life we want to, giving us more options. We know when women have financial stability, the world is a better place. To dive into the personal finance topic, head over to my The Money Talks Series.

Respect is a key part of celebrating someone. I feel like listening and equitable pay is a good place to start.

How do you celebrate International Women’s Day? What women inspire you?
